Timeline of Robert Livermore's Life
October 1799- Robert Thomas Livermore was born in Springfield village Essex, England to Robert Livermore and Mary cudworth.
1820- During this time period, Peru wanted to become independent from Spain.
1822-1823- Robert Livermore landed in Southern California and met John Gilroy.
1823- Robert Livermore joined the naval service of England on a man-of-war (ship).
June 20, 1823- At Mission Santa Clara, Robert Livermore was baptized.
1835- With his friends (one was Jose Noriega), Livermore moved into Livermore Valley to live on Las Positas Ranch.
January 1837- Gulnac sold half of Rancho Las Positas to Livermore and half to Jose Noriega.
May 5, 1838- Robert Livermore married the eldest daughter of the Higuera family. They met while he was working at the Higuera Rancho (Las Tularcitos). She was a widow with a young daughter.
1839- Robert Livermore officially bought Las Positas Ranch where he raised 30,000 cattle and sold their hides, soap, and tallow to ships that came from San Francisco. He also grew wheat, barely, grapes, and vegetables and used horses.
1851- "Around the Horn", Robert Livermore's dream adobe house was built.
1854- Livermore purchased Noriega's half of Las Positas Ranch.
1858- Robert Livermore passed away due to natural causes and has a grave marker at Mission San Jose.
1869- William M. Mendenhall named the town Livermore after Robert Livermore.
